Background
W.R Case & Sons Cutlery Company's rich history began in 1889 when William Russell (W.R.), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. Located in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the Case Company today is owned by Zippo Manufacturing Company (makers of the famous Zippo lighter), another family-owned business based in Bradford.It is curious that in the 1990's, when nearly all of the other large American cutlery companies developed multitools of their own to compete with Leatherman, Case never did. Consequently, the only Case device that is more "tool" than it is "knife" is the Fixxit.
