Like Sheffield, England, or Seki, Japan, the cutlery industry in Germany is almost entirely focused in the city of Solingen. Knifemaking companies big and small reside there, although not to the degree today as in decades past. Although some of the multi-purpose tools to come from here are proudly stamped with their maker's logo, a good many are simply labeled "Solingen".
