Background
First We Made Things Sharp, Then We Made Sharp Things
Spyderco initially made blade sharpening products, and is still well known for systems like the Sharpmaker. Logically, Spyderco eventually progressed into folding knives, then fixed blade knives and eventually into multitools like the SpyderWrench. With manufacturing of various products spread out between the factory in Golden, Colorado, Seki City, Japan, Taiwan and China, Spyderco has proven that with proper quality control, reliable knives and tools have little to do with geography.
Spyderco eventually created the Byrd line, which produces Spyderco designs in China, including multitools like the Harp Tool and ByrdWrench, a discount version of the SpyderWrench.
