Background
Little is known of the Excalibur brand. The leading theory is that it was a venture on the part of Fiskars in the late 1990's to build tools in China using the Gerber sliding jaws patent. The tools could then be imported to North America and marketed under the Fiskars brand name. Patent numbers stamped on the tools and packaging with the Fiskars label would seem to support this suggestion.
