Blade Characteristics
- All the tool are polished stainless steel. Only the longer tools lock(knife, saw, Phillips driver and scissors). The rest are non-locking.
Locking Mechanism
- The knife, saw, Phillips driver and scissors have a liner lock but the rest of the tools are non-locking.
Sheath
- The Leap doesn't have a sheath at this time.

Versions
- An early version of the tool was recalled due to the locking mechanism on the knife releasing the blade. Leatherman will replace the tool at no charge for the consumer. The recalled version knife blade has 4 bumps on it the newer replacement version only has 3 bumps.
Variations
- The Leap comes in three colors at this time. They are blue, red and green.
Background
- Introduced in 2014. Made in the USA. Still in production.
Related Tools
- The plier head of both the Leap and the Rev are the same. Also has a same designed Phillips flat driver and a scaled down frame that the Rev, Wingman and Sidekick have. It has the same type tweezers as the Micra as well.
